ALERT!  DELAY IN RELEASE

NEW FINAL HEARING DATE

*REVISED FINAL STATE PLAN UP FOR ADOPTION*

The State Planning Commission has missed its implementation date for the "Draft Final State Strategic Plan," and at its last meeting determined that A FINAL public hearing (#7) will be added to the six hearings that concluded April 2nd.  Within 60 days of the date of that new hearing, they will adopt the revised State Development Plan.

While the date of the 7th Public hearing had not been set as of 5/3/12, it will be posted here when they do set the date and location.

Here are the minutes of the January 18th meeting of the State Planning Commission (2 meetings ago).

As many of you know, the final "redline" revision of the Draft Final State Strategic Plan / New Jersey's State Development & Redevelopment Plan (Rev. 11/14/11) ...HAS BEEN DELAYED.

The State Planning Commission was scheduled to vote to adopt this [terrible] plan on April 25.  That meeting was postponed.  Every concerned activist in the state should be contacting the Governor, Lt. Governor, State Planning Commission and EVERY municipal and county official about YOUR concerns over this plan.

NJ Foreclosure Transformation

S1566 / A2168 - There is much more going on behind the scenes of this legislation than initially meets the eye.  Read It and make sure your municipal officials are aware and doing their homework.

Try to attend the Assembly Appropriations Committee hearing when it is scheduled. 

Once the Foreclosure Act clears this committee, both Houses quickly will vote to adopt it.  We need your help to urge Gov. Christie to veto it.

In other states, similar legislation has led to outrageous abuses of government authority - and why should we in NJ expect anything less? !!

Update: Transparency - internet reporting of ALL state expenditures, and more !

We are pleased to report that the NJ Senate PASSED S-708, the "Transparency in Government Act," on June 10th, 29-3. This bill includes amendments presented by Morris Patriots.

S-708, if adopted by the General Assembly and signed by the Governor, would require all agencies of the State, the Legislature, the Judiciary, all counties, municipalities, authorities and school boards that receive ANY state funds, to create websites to disclose in detail ALL expenditures, including the NAMES OF ALL PAYEES.

The bill's Prime Sponsors are Sen. Joseph Pennacchio (R-26) and Sen. Richard Codey (D-27). Co-Sponsors include Sen. Steven Oroho (R-24), Sen. Thomas Kean Jr. (R-21), Sen. Anthony Bucco (R-25), Sen. Christopher Connors (R-9), Sen. Christopher Bateman (R-16), Sen. Andrew Ciesla (R-10) and Sen. Kevin O'Toole (R-40).

WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW: Become familiar with S-708, and begin to speak with members of the full NJ General Assembly to encourage their support for it.

TARP ... forever --

This "blank check" legislation, introduced by Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), is like TARP Forever. Continuing the long socialist myth tradition of saying the exact opposite of what you mean, the measure is named, "The Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010."

S3217 grants permanent, unlimited bailout authority to the Federal Reserve. It gives the Fed the power to take over vaguely defined "nonbank financial companies". It gives the Fed the power to decide what constitutes a "nonbank financial company" on a case by case basis.

It creates the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, another deceptive term, that according to The Heritage Foundation, will make it more difficult for customers to access new technologies by imposing massive new regulations on entrepreneurs.

Was the timing of the SEC charges against Goldman Sachs a coincidence? Read Rush Limbaugh's excellent time line of events [his radio transcript for April 20]

Note that the financial industry does not operate in an unregulated market today. Worse, many of the economic meltdown problems were caused by the Federal regulations demanding financial institutions make sub-prime mortgages available to low income groups (that would never be able to pay them back). Former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan has admitted as much [in statements made April 20 before the Senate Budget Committee].

We worry also about the inferred coercion - consider how FREE a business would feel to donate to conservative campaigns when the Administration has power to declare that business "in danger of failing".
